Date Night/A Trip to the ER..

So here is the Date Night story...
Kevin took me out for Valentines Saturday night. Our plan for this much needed night out was dinner and a movie. I had been craving the food from the Mama Mia's down the street from our house. So we went there early before the 7pm movie. We had just finished our meal and the waitress had just collected our money for the bill. i looked down and saw my phone was ringing and it was the babysitter calling. I said "Oh no, What is wrong?", hoping it was a quick question. She was very calm and said that "there had been an accident and Isaac bumped his head. He was ok, but it was bleeding ALOT so she called 911". As soon as she had the words "911" out of her mouth, I saw the lights and heard the emergency truck go by the restaurant! (remember, we were eating right down the road from our house) I jumped out of my seat and ran back to tell the waitress she had to hurry because we had and emergency! My heart was racing at this point and all I could think about was getting home before they took my baby away to the hospital without me. We got home in about two minutes and pulled into the drive way to see both of my Kurdish neighbors in the doorway checking on everyone and 3-4 firemen. it was a fire truck from the station down the street that I had heard go by. I had a short wave of gratitude as I walked up my front steps thinking that my sweet Kurdish Neighbors (the ones on one side of us that barely know English) would come over to see if they could help as soon as the truck pulled up. This feeling left as soon as I walked in the door and went straight to Isaac to assess him. He had a a gash on the back of his head about an inch long and split apart 3/4 of an inch. So the fireman confirmed that he did need stitches. So I told them I would take him, because it had stopped bleeding. The babysitter did a great job applying pressure. So I took him to the Vandy ER and loaded up his favorite blanket and a couple of lovies and a bag full of books to read(we are still doing a read-a-thon at school).

We stayed in the main lobby (sick/flu) waiting area for about 1.5 hrs then moved to a smaller, quieter waiting room with only f 4-5 other patients that did not look as sick/fluish. We stayed a total of 4 hrs. Isaac finally fell asleep about 10:15pm in my arms. We finally got 4 staples and a green popcycle about 11:10pm. We left soon after. It was not a bad trip and the injury could have been much worse, so we are thankful. One thing I am hoping we did not take home with us is the Flu. We have avoided it so far, but I fear our time in the sick waiting room has exposed us. i asked the nurse how long is the normal wait time for the onset of the flu. She said 3 days....

Isaac asked this morning, "Now can I get a puppy?" He is doing just fine, just a little tired today.
