So it has been a busy summer at our house!
The boys did a few sports camps. Amelia did a sleeping beauty ballet camp and the boys also did VBS.
One of the favorite camps the boys did was zoo camp.

We also spent many mornings at the local Y swimming. Amelia learned how to swim like a little fish!

We took a trip to the lake to see friends.

We celebrated dad on Father's Day and are going to celebrate him again this week on his birthday!

Our sweet Isaac turned 6! He has told us ever since mom got breakfast in bed, that on his birthday, he too wanted breakfast in bed! So of course he got it and he also got a few new puppies to add to his ever growing puppy collection. he is still holding out for a real dog one day.

One of our traditions for the day of your birthday is getting to go out to eat wherever you want. We did not get to do that on Isaac's birthday, because we had his party that night at the bowling alley. So a couple of nights ago I took him on a mommy date to the place he wanted. It was Captain D's. I know what you are thinking....gross. Well, it is a litlle. He LOVED it. He has become quite the momma's boy over the summer:) I started to teach him about how to treat girls one day a long time from now when he starts dating. I told him "you need to ask her how she is doing". He quickly asked what my favorite thing of the day was. I thought this was sweet, because we try to ask the kids every night what their favorite part of the day was and if there was something hard about their day. It is fun to see him growing up.

We have tried to be better about having family worship once a week this summer. We only go to night church and so Sunday mornings work out great to have some good family time. I have a box of lots of musical things to choose from and dad plays guitar and leads us in our favorite hymns. Then we read out of The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd Jones. Amazing book!! We also love the Child's Story Bible by Catherine Vos for more details and less pictures for the older ones. Then everyone prays for something we are thankful for and something we need help with. It has been a sweet time that I hope we can continue as school starts back.

Hope you are enjoying the last days of summer!
